My name is Yanina. I have been designing for about 3 years. That is, I began studying before the full-scale invasion. Unfortunately, I worked and studied on Russian designers.
And after the full-scale invasion, did you switch to another platform?
I, like most conscious Ukrainians, started looking for alternatives. And it was very difficult to find an analogue. Thoughts appeared in my head: “Why has no one created an analogue yet? What to do next?” I tried several constructors, but I liked Weblium the most . Then I started transferring clients’ websites here from Russian website constructors.
I have taken many courses specifically on design, but I have not taken courses on constructors. Weblium is made in such a way that everything is intuitive. And I mastered the constructor myself by trial and error, and with the help of support.

Have you always worked in the design field, or have you had other professions in your life?
Before web design, I worked as an accountant, financier and even a tender specialist. That is, it was a completely different field for five years.
Why did you decide to change your field of activity?
The coronavirus started, and I realized that I needed to look for some kind of digital profession . I had been thinking about working in IT for a long time. I had the opportunity to take a break: I quit my job and started studying web design .
Why did you choose turnkey website creation?
There are many requests for this format. Most clients do not understand that there are several stages: UX, UI, then layout. People want to get a ready-made website. And this is good, because I like to do not only the website design itself, but also transfer this design to Weblium.

The community of designers on Instagram is very large. And my colleague recommended it to me. We corresponded and I asked: “Where did you find an analogue? And where did you make this site?”

Are there any disadvantages or limitations when using Weblium?
When Flex block appeared, the question of shortcomings suddenly disappeared for me, because it really helps with design: transfer and make 1 in 1, like in Figma. There have been a lot of updates lately. To be honest, I don’t have time to keep up with them. When I develop the next site, I notice what you have.
Many requests that I wrote to support appeared over time, such as integration with Nova Poshta . I really missed this in the online store.
Of the things I want... It would be great to integrate with Figma. I don't know how realistic it is, but it would be cool.
There are also several requests specifically for mobile sites, that is, adaptive only for a mobile device. If there was such a possibility, it would be awesome if it were possible to create only a mobile version.

Flex block. I want to highlight it. It is not pakistan phone number library available on all platforms. And this is exactly the update I was really waiting for.
Everything is intuitive. Even at the beginning of my journey, it didn't take much effort to master the constructor and learn how to use it.
Support. Chat is 24/7. Once, at 2 am, I contacted them and thought that I would only get an answer in the morning. But they answered me in 5 minutes. It feels like they don't sleep there. Other builders have completely removed online chat.
Help center. Everything is very structured. You can find answers to many questions yourself.

What kind of websites do you create most often on Weblium?
There is only one online store. Basically, it is a landing page and sites with several pages. For different areas: experts, jurisprudence, tour operators. Now I am developing a site with cargo transportation for Latvia and Estonia. But I work with all niches, depending on the request.
Where do you most often find clients?
When I was just starting out, I was looking for clients on my own on Instagram. And I found my first client, who I still work with, through mailings. And then they started recommending me, clients were advertising — that is, it was more word of mouth. Exchanges didn’t work for me, even though I tried them only at the beginning of my journey. We didn’t become friends with exchanges.

In the future, do your clients edit the sites themselves, or do you manage the sites yourself?
I usually compile websites in my personal account, then contact support. I tell them that you can make changes to the website yourself, but I strongly advise against it. Website support is not free. I tell them that everything is clear here, I record video instructions for my client if there is such a need. Although someone says, “I’m afraid to break everything there.”
