My First SiteGround Team Festival

Post by tasnimsanika1 »

company over two years ago, it was right after the pandemic and the world stopped, so it took a while, but the wait was worth it. My bar of expectations was already pretty high, as I had heard legends about SiteGround’s previous festivals (in 2016 , 2017 , 2018 , 2019 ), even before I joined the team. In fact, it turned out to be much more than a team event, more than a festival it was an epic experience.

tour of the festival location

Our team festival was in the surroundings of a beautiful residence, built in the early 80s. The area around it features large expanses of grass, forests, diverse plant and animal species, even its own lake! The building itself was quite interesting too, and everyone had the chance to sign up for a tour of the place. Here are the 3 things that stuck in my memory about the residence. The building was built in the 1980s as one of the residences of the leader of the social political party at the time. All the materials used to build it were locally produced. And lastly, huge, impressive chandeliers hung from the ceilings in every room, hallway, and bedroom.

The location where it was built was not chosen at random either. Scientists carefully inspected the quality of the air, wind and soil before deciding on the construction site. Due to its unique location, surrounded by mountains and wind currents, the air at this exact spot is supposed to be some of the cleanest and freshest for miles around.

Traditionally, our team meeting is a full-blown festival, spanning two days of activities and workshops, mostly led by our own colleagues. Our events team puts out an internal call for workshop suggestions months before the festival, and that’s how the programme is naturally shaped following the interests of SiteGround members. From compost generation and birdhouse workshops, to coffee and beer brewing, and screen printing t-shirts and bags, we had it all! Five hundred SiteGrounders were able to choose from 10 different workshops, taking from a few hours to a whole day! The list is endless with multiple sporting activities from early morning to late afternoon, again led by our own team of professional instructors: yoga, pilates, workout, football, volleyball and table tennis tournaments. Also paintball, slacklining, archery… you name it, we had it.

The wide range of workshops and sporting activities was really impressive. One would wonder where we got the energy for the fun part of the festival that starts in the evening, because the best was saved for last.

Time for live music

The evening started with a new portion of entertainment, this time on the greece whatsapp number data 30-meter SiteGround stage. It all started with a monologue to warm up the stage for what was going to happen that night.

The return to the stage of our very own band: New Technical Issues , which is entirely made up of SiteGround employees, who have proven to be talented in much more than just fixing technical issues. The team cheered them on and enjoyed their performance so much that it was hard for them to leave the stage, as we couldn’t let them go. Next time they promised to do a third round of encore! And that was just the beginning!

At SiteGround, we work hard every day, and we always put our heart and mind into what we do. When we party, we keep the bar high. That’s why the headliners at SiteGround’s 2023 Team Festival were… RUDIMENTAL himself!

Thanks to them, the joy of our team's festival echoed in the surrounding forests until late that night: dancing, singing, jumping, shouting. The experience is hard to describe in words!

I can’t imagine what it must be like to organize such an epic two-day event, but the SiteGround team definitely pulled it off because again, we organized it ourselves. 6 months and only about 5 people in the core organizing team, over 100 external professionals to help with the camp site, music stage, and healthy food catering on-site, just so that 500 Site
