Microsoft plans to release a version of Bing that uses ChatGPT to answer search queries. The Information reported that Microsoft hopes to release the new feature before the end of March in a bid to make Bing more competitive with Google.
Let's agree that when we talk about SEO, we're looking at the market leader, and talking about that would be like saying something like "I'm not going to ignore it." It turns out that the runners-up can't be ignored, and you've probably heard of them, too.
That's why today we will have to answer the question that no longer wants to remain silent: what is happening with Bing?

What is GPT Chat?
ChatGPT is a chatbot that interacts conversationally with the user. Created by OpenAI, this tool is able to admit its own mistakes and even question incorrect assumptions. In other words, it offers a more human form of dialogue.
In July 2019, OpenAI received a $1 billion grant to, according to them, “build artificial general intelligence” (AGI).
In an article, the company explains its ambition in developing the idea of AGI: “ an AGI will be a system capable of mastering a field of study at the level of a world expert and mastering more fields than any human being .”
Well, it seems that the fruits of the investment are beginning to pay off. I don't know about you, but this statement strikes me as being made by a competitor who is on par with Google.
With that in mind, the next step is to get your mind set on doing Bing SEO and start learning how to do it.
SEO for Bing – Why Should You Do It?
According to Statista , Bing receives an average of 1.2 billion visitors per month. Granted, its market share is around 9%, while Google has over 80% . But there's sudan email list no denying the fact that there are a lot of people in the world who use Microsoft's tool. 1.2 billion!
I witnessed a customer using Bing these days. And you know what my hypothesis is? Microsoft 365 and Windows! Companies and users end up stumbling upon Bing because of other products from the giant, and they leave it as the main search engine in their browser.
And Bing isn’t all bad, okay? I did a search there: “mugs for sale” and I liked the results. They match my search intent, showing similar snippets as Google, but with more fun animations, like the one below, where you hover over and the items move.
Also, it took less time to load searches on Bing than on Google. I also searched for a slightly more complex term “delete github repository” and found the results satisfactory.
In other words, you come with Bing as your default search engine and you search without any problems, so why not keep using it?
Finally, my last argument is: everyone is looking at Google, which means there is more competition. This translates into a more costly and challenging path to the top spot. On Bing, however, you have a better chance of finding some opportunities that your competitor is not seeing.
So, if your business has the structure for it, you can give it a try and focus on Bing-focused SEO.
How to do SEO for Bing?
Here you may have a challenge, as the market has been looking at Google for a long time and the processes and tools (like Semrush for example) are based on searches on the market leader.
So, if I were your company’s Bing-focused content strategist, I would take the following steps:
explore the Bing Webmaster Tool ;
create the strategy following Bing guidelines ;
see the results for the keyword I want to target on Bing that is no longer on Google.
The Rock has an in-depth article on the topic , so I'll summarize other tactics in the following list:
Pogo sticking: Think about user engagement with the content;
Increase the click-through rate on the page after appearing in the results;
Take advantage of Bing's Connected Pages feature;
Use backlinks;
Invest in anchor texts;
Have a keyword in the website domain;
Produce original content;
Finding relevance on social media.

Very similar to Google, right? That's why the acronym is SEO and not GoO or BiO .
The big truth is that all search engines focus on offering the best possible result for the user. What changes with ChatGPT is that Bing will possibly offer you a better product . That is, focus on producing content for your buyer persona.
I hope you understood the importance of ChatGPT in Content Marketing and it helped you with the Bing SEO problem.
Since the name of Bing Tools is called Webmaster, I would like to point out another text on why Google removed the “webmaster” from its branding . Happy reading!
