Just wanted to give you folks an update on Duke "Just A

Duke". He is doing so well and is one of the sweetest horses I have ever owned.
He always does what is asked of him. All my riding buddies can't believe he is
only 4 years old. Everyone who sees how well behaved he is on the trail wants
to know where I found him. I always tell them there are more like him down at
Evening Shade Farm. You put such a good foundation on Duke. He is a real
treasure. Duke is going on a 3 day ride in May. We have been getting in shape
for the ride and Duke is putting on muscle. He will be ready for the Saturday
14 mile trail. Thank you for raster to vector conversion service producing such solid trail horses. Bonnie S in GA
Thank you Bonnie for giving Duke the opportunity to be yours. He's another
example of a horse born and meant to be a great trail companion. It shows once
again that it isn't age that makes them great. It's all in the DNA and good life.
Lisa kept Laredo (sometimes fondly called Lardo
because of his chunky build) for 4 years as her own
horse and she loved every minute with him. Deb
chose him to replace her much loved aging mare
and met him for the first time in person when he
arrived at his new home with her in Iowa. Thanks. Hi David and Lisa, I just have to tell you that today we have 70 degree weather
with no wind. My friend came over (she has a foxtrotter) and we rode all after-
noon on the 100 + acres hayfield and pasture/timber land that we have. Was so
fun!!! Laredo did great- I am really enjoying him. He is being very patient with
me as I learn to ride a gaited horse. He is so smooth and it feels like we're float-
ing when he gets into his gaits. He goes very quickly into his canter which is
also very smooth. I put my 20 y/o daughter on him after we got back from riding
and he was very good about her getting on the step stool and wallowing her way
into the saddle. He stood very patiently!!! I led her around and she just loved it.
Since she has Down's Syndrome/special needs this is such an important aspect.
He is such a friendly horse also - always right up to the gate when I go down to
feed him. Trails me around if I'm doing anything down there. Have not tried
riding him bareback yet - will probably do that tomorrow - it's supposed to be
nice. I'm getting used to riding with a saddle again - had rode my mare bare-
back for the last 6 years or so because she was getting arthritis - and is just as
comfortable to me. Anyway, just wanted you to know how happy I am with him.
