A lover of sport and design, our student Julio Ortiz has managed to unite his two passions in his profession. From junior designer to Filmmaker and Visual & UI/UX Designer. Let yourself be inspired by his story and learn how he has gradually paved his professional path.
You started your studies in computer systems, specialising in audiovisual production and, later, in programming and graphic and web design. Did you always know that your branch was the creative part?
Yes. From a very young age I would alternate my afternoons between going out to play football or taking paper and pencil and drawing what I saw. I went from pencil to brush with oil paint, and when I discovered that I could combine it all digitally, I knew immediately that I would dedicate myself to it .
In 2009 you started your own project JZitro. What motivated you to take the expanding reach and boosting sales with the lead plunge? Any professional achievements you are proud of?
It came about unexpectedly. I kept reading magazines and websites about graphic design, photography, video… and I was passionate about what I saw. All this information came from the United States or Europe and I felt the need to incorporate these trends here , specifically in Seville.
After a lot of effort, obstacles and failures, I started to renew the corporate image of some Seville companies . That was when we were commissioned to make a Christmas spot for Grupo Lappi . We were very happy with the result.
Later, you began working in the world of production and creation of audiovisual content as Creative Director for Ashara Cultura, a project management organisation, and for CAM Multimedia, dedicated to consulting on audiovisual content. What did both experiences bring you? What characteristics would you highlight in the audiovisual world?
