What is Jatpack?

This vulnerability allowed website administrators to perform unauthorized operations on files present in the WordPress installation, posing a significant security risk to blogs, websites and e-commerce based on the most popular CMS.
To mitigate this vulnerability, Automattic developed a security patch, called Jetpack 12.1.1, which was automatically applied to all WordPress sites that had the plugin active. The patch deployment process affected over 4,130,000 sites running Jetpack versions later than 2.0.
