When is the best time to launch email marketing campaigns?

Post by kolikhatun099 »

Surely this question has generated, on more than one occasion, quite a few doubts for you. And do you know why? Because we normally stop to analyze in depth the content of the message, its cordiality and length, or on other occasions we are interested in nuances in the CTA , but then, when it comes to choosing the ideal moment to launch Email Marketing campaigns, what? Huh? It makes you insecure, right? Thinking that, depending on the time and/or day you choose to carry out the mass mailing, your campaign will be successful -or not- makes you doubt.

Choosing the right moment to send an email is a vital aspect to take into account if we want to obtain high opening rates, since we will have more chances of our emails being read if we find the exact and opportune moment, the same one in which our user is relaxed and receptive to them.

But to know when that moment is, my friend, there is no magic formula… The only thing you can do is get to know your subscribers in depth.

The ideal time to launch Email Marketing campaigns
Monday to Sunday
If we had to choose the best day of the week to send a mass email marketing campaign, we would definitely do it by elimination.

First of all, you have to keep in mind that neither Mondays nor Fridays are good days to send emails, mainly because they are days that are prone to cleaning out the inbox. Also, particularly on Monday, the beginning of the week is there, and emotionally (yes, let's admit it) we are not in the mood; we focus on pure and hard work, on planning the week, and we will not stop to analyze promotions. Friday, on the other hand, may not be - as we said - a good day to launch campaigns, given that (just the opposite of Monday), on this day we are too euphoric about the arrival of the weekend to dedicate ourselves to checking our email promotions. However, if you have no choice but to send your campaign on that day, we would recommend that you send it between 7:30 and 9:00 in the morning.

3 aspects to consider when creating an effective editorial calendar
Wednesday , on the other hand, is usually the day of greatest chaos, whirlwind and chaos in the work aspect, since we are in the middle of the week, and it might seem that it never ends and that the tasks add up, increase and accumulate, which is all the more reason not to check the promotions and content of our subscriptions.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are ideal days to send campaigns. Tuesday is the first day when the week starts to get back on track after the chaotic and, most likely, depressing Monday. Users owner/partner/shareholder email lists are already planning their week and have more time to check the emails they have received. However, you should keep in mind that, since Tuesday is the best day to send emails, it will be the day when you have the most competition and users will receive more emails in their inboxes. Therefore, our recommendation is that the earlier you do it, the better, as you will have a better chance of opening it. Before 9 a.m. can be a good time. What's more, it will give users the opportunity to read your emails on the way to work several times. Thursday is (like Tuesday) a good time to send mass emails. But remember that you should always do it first thing in the morning or last thing at night (from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.), but not in the afternoon.

As for weekends : don't bother. Users tend not to check their emails on these days, as they are times of rest, when time is fully devoted to family matters or moments of leisure and enjoyment.

However, in any case it will depend - of course - on the type of audience your brand is targeting, with the above conclusions being generic. If, for example, you want to announce a last-minute offer on a super concert for the weekend, you might consider sending the announcement on a Friday, and it will probably generate a good reception. Everything will depend on the type of content and audience.

Let's recap: What happened in email marketing in 2015?
Because, as in any strategy, the most important thing is to know the target.

Once we have decided which day of the week is the most suitable for sending email marketing messages, based on our target audience, we must face another question: what time is the most suitable for sending them?

In some of the previous conclusions we already referred to some hours of greater predisposition to make the announcement, which are identified with the first hours of the morning, from 8 am to 9:30 am, approximately.

From 10am onwards, users are usually immersed in their work, so it is better not to try to bother them with promotions and offers. On the other hand, from 2pm onwards, users are usually looking to get informed about news and daily events, which update them on what is happening in the world, and they normally do so while eating, or just after. That is why we mentioned above that, if you have to send a campaign during the morning - and you cannot do it at the beginning of the day - it is better to do it at the end of the morning, before lunch .

As always - and as you know - there is an exception that confirms the rule and, as we do not want that to be the case here, we ask you to please analyze your target in depth to understand their daily life, and hit the nail on the head in your particular situation. Good luck!
