A blink of an eye. An idea. A moment that lasts. That's photography. From many and diverse perspectives, we want to celebrate time. On the 25th anniversary of FUNIBER, we are organizing a special edition of the PHotoFUNIBER International Competition, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary.
In addition to promoting new talents through the competition, we will be holding photography workshops, exhibitions with the winning images from the five editions of the competition and interviews with photographers.
In this way, the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER) presents the fifth edition of the PHotoFUNIBER International Photography Competition. How to participate in PHotoFUNIBER?

To be eligible, the participating photograph must be original, not having been awarded in other competitions or commercially exploited. The participant may enter a photograph in one of the four categories below:
NATURE: Photographs of natural environments, fauna, flora, water, among other elements of nature.
HERITAGE: Photographs of cultural elements such as architecture, dance, gastronomy, crafts, music, etc.
PHOTOJOURNALISM: Photographs that express human complexities through people, events and actions that represent human values such as solidarity, cooperation, education and personal development.
ABSTRACT: Photographs created with freedom of digital or artisanal manipulation, representing some original idea, concept or aesthetic.
The selection process
In the first phase, 20 photographs from each category will be chosen as finalists. These images will be displayed in an online gallery on the competition website and will participate in a public vote, which will take place from March 20 to April 11. In addition to the public vote, a Jury of Honour, made up of photography experts, will choose the best images from the gallery of finalists. The announcement of the winners will take place on May 5. Awards
– The winner of each category chosen by the jury will receive a prize of €400 and an 80% scholarship to study one of the postgraduate programs promoted by FUNIBER.
– The photograph in each category with the most public votes will also be awarded a prize of €300 and a 50% scholarship to study one of FUNIBER’s postgraduate programs. Voting will be done through the contest page k likes.
– A total of six special prizes will also be awarded, with a prize of 200 euros each, to be awarded to students and alumni of UNEATLANTICO and UNIC and postgraduate students with FUNIBER scholarships who have completed their studies or are currently studying. For each category, there may be honorable mentions.
Exposure
The award-winning works from PhotoFUNIBER'23 will be exhibited in the exhibition hall of the European University of the Atlantic, in Santander (Spain), starting on May 18. The exhibition will then be given a certain tour through some of the countries where FUNIBER is present.
