Devin Meistry has found that going to WordCamp can be life-changing. For her, each subsequent event is another step in her journey to discover the WordPress community and its many possibilities.
Falling in love with WordPress isn't that hard if you can phone number library experience it for yourself. For me, it was WordCamp
In 2016, without much thought, Devin volunteered at WordCamp Denpasar, Bali. It was her first experience participating in WordPress events.
Here she made a surprising discovery: “WordCamp brings together people who contribute to the community without directly benefiting from WordPress.”
With each subsequent WordCamp, things only got more interesting, and Devin realized that she wanted to attend WordPress events more often. She became a regular at the Ubud and Jakarta meetups, and later co-organized those meetups and WordCamp Jakarta in 2017 and 2019.
Inspired by what WordCamp events have to offer and how they bring people together across national borders, she joined the organizing team for WordCamp Asia 2020. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the first major WordPress event to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
