Sometimes we are lucky enough to find a cause in life that we are not only willing to join, but also to champion. Whatever it is, it can help us step outside of our daily routine and rethink what we know. This is exactly what happened to Hauva, she felt like she had found her place and was able to rethink her life and plans.
For her, the turning point was the discovery of WordPress, an open source project.
In 2017, Hauva, already an experienced and successful whatsapp number list project manager, realized that she wasn’t enjoying her work as much as she used to and was downright bored. “I knew I still enjoyed working on and managing projects, but I needed to make a change,” she recalls.
Hauva then enrolled in a web development course, where she learned HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript. One of the course's options was learning WordPress, so she chose it. The course instructor recommended that she attend a conference called WordCamp.
Hauwa felt it was important to have a basic understanding of CMS (content management system) before attending the event, and she delved into learning WordPress on her own. The first WordCamp she attended was in the seaside town of Brighton on the south coast of England. There, she met people who would become her friends and mentors for years to come.
"I was inspired by meeting people in the WordPress community. My life and my desire to support communities have been changed for the better by the people I have met, and I remain grateful for the people I have met.
